Panchkula Violence: Police Chargesheet includes Journalists, councilor, cops among 50 witnesses

Panchkula: According to the Police charge sheet filed in Panchkula arson, Journalists, a local councilor, executives of mobile service providers, cops, government officials and villagers are among the 50 witnesses connected with the arson.

Adopted daughter Honeypreet of rape convict Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Singh is named to be the prime conspirator of the violence in Panchkula.

Panchkula councilor, two local former Sarpanches shall appear in the court as witnesses to the crime against Honeypreet.

The four executives of telecom service companies are likely to confirm the mobile locations of the accused during the violence in Panchkula which killed 40 people after Gurmeet’s conviction on 25 August.

25 police personnel from the special task force are also included in the witness list who have been investigating the case which was followed by the arrest of several dera officials.

Police are also taking account of village people of Gurusar Modia in Rajasthan’s Ganganagar district also Gurmeet’s ancestral village where Honeypreet was reportedly hiding before her arrests on 4 October.

But testimonies of two reporters from a Hindi daily, Police considers crucial in the case.

The Police have booked two Dera officials Aditya Insan and Surinder Dhiman under sections for sedition and rioting charges which continued for three days after the journalists reportedly testified against them.

A senior police official said the number of witnesses could go up since many arrests of members is still awaited reported Hindustan Times.

The Police charge sheet claims Honeypreet has reportedly confessed and revealed the entire plot which led to the violence in Panchkula.

She was quoted in the charge-sheet confessing the to Police that she along with other key dera members Aditya Insan have conspired to carryout the violence in order to free Ram Rahim after his conviction.

She is likely to be produced before court on Friday.
