Panchkula boy, Sarvesh Mehtani tops IIT-JEE Advanced

Panchkula, Haryana: Sarvesh Mehtani from Panchkula secured an All India Rank (AIR) 1 in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2017, the results of which were declared on Sunday.

Mehtani, a student of Bhavan Vidyalaya School had secured a rank of 55 in JEE mains this year. He was motivated to take the exam as he wanted to study in one of the top engineering colleges in the country and now wants to go to IIT-Bombay, HT reports.

Pune’s Akshat Chugh was in the second position and Delhi’s Ananya Agarwal was placed third in the prestigious advanced entrance exam to the Indian Institutes of Technology.

The results were declared on jeeadv.ac.in by the organisers of the exam this year, IIT-Madras. As many as 1.74 lakh students registered for JEE (Advanced) this year. Of them, 500 were foreign candidates, because the IITs for the first time ever held the test in six other countries as well. The total number of students who qualified in the test will be released by the IITs shortly.
