Government of Telangana on Monday issued orders renaming AMR-APARD (SIRD) as Telangana State Institute of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (TSIPARD).
It may be mentioned here that the Centre enacted the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014 (Act 6 of 2014) dated March 1 last year and the Government of India notified June 2, 2014 as the appointed day for formation of a new State of Telangana.
In the wake of bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh into Telangana and AP States, the Commissioner, AMR-APARD, Rajendra
Nagar, Hyderabad had submitted proposals for renaming the institution as Telangana State Institute of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (TSIPARD).
Accordingly, the State government changed the name of “AMR-APARD” as “Telangana State Institute of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (TSIPARD)” in the State of Telangana in consultation with Advisory Departments under the provisions of the A.P. Reorganisation Act, 2014. (NSS)
