Panchayat Raj official has assets worth a crore

Hyderabad, October 02: The assistant commissioner of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department in the city was found to be in possession of assets worth more than Rs 1 crore by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

ACB sleuths conducted raids on the office of assistant commissioner E Krishna Mohan, situated on Urdu Lane in Himayathnagar and on his residence at Bhagyanagar Society in Kukatpally on Thursday.

Krishna Mohan has a house at Hayathnagar, two flats at Kukatpally and three house plots, one at Champapet and two at Uppal.

Though the documentary value of these properties is Rs 66 lakh, ACB officials said that the market value of these assets would be more than Rs one crore.

The assistant commissioner was also in possession of Rs 8.74 lakh cash, one kilogram of gold worth Rs 14.29 lakh and about one kg of silver articles worth Rs 15,000. Apart from these, Krishna Mohan maintained a bank balance of Rs 14.32 lakh, household articles worth Rs 4.15 lakh and another Rs 4 lakh paid towards LIC premium.

The value of all these assets is pegged at Rs 41.65 lakh. Krishna Mohan will be arrested and produced before a special court for ACB cases in the city.
