Kakinada, September 07: East Godavari Collector and district election officer Gopalakrishna Dwivedi said here today that the September 9 by-elections for the posts of panchayat sarpanch of Uppumilli in Kajulur mandal and member ward two of Nedunuru village of Ayinavilli mandal have been postponed owing to the demise of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. Under the revised schedule announced by the state election commission, he said, these by-elections now would be held on September 16.
The polling will be completed by 1200 hrs on that day and counting of votes commences from 1400 hrs onwards and the results will be announced on the same day.he added.
