Women of Palghar in Thane district today joined people from across the country to protest against the alleged gang-rape of a girl in Delhi. Over 100 people, mostly women, from different walks of life, gathered at the Hutatma Stambh Chowk holding placards and shouting slogans seeking justice for the victim. The agitation was led by Thane BJP vice president Laxmidevi Hazari, Palghar MNS ladies wing president Geeta Sankhe and Palghar Shiv Sena ladies wing president Parvati Rajput. A memoramdum addressed to the Prime Minister demanding death penalty for rape was handed over to Palghar tehsildar. PTI
