Abu Dhabi, August 04: The speaker of the United Arab Emirates Federal National Council describes the issue of Palestine as the great battle of the Muslim world which should not be left in oblivion.
“Our great battle is the battle of Palestine,” Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al Ghurair stated during a telephone conversation with Iranian Majlis (parliament) Speaker Ali Larijan late on Wednesday, IRNA reported.
“The issue of Palestine is the major issue of the Islamic Ummah and it should not be allowed to be forgotten under the influence of the recent developments in the region,” the UAE official urged.
Larijani, for his part, referred to the stepped up violation of human rights against Palestinians, and invited his UAE counterpart to attend an international conference on Palestine in Tehran.
The Fifth Conference in Support of Palestinian Intifada scheduled to be held in the Iranian capital, Tehran, in October is to voice support for the intifada of the Palestinian people against Israel’s violations of human rights.
The event sponsored by Majlis will also seek to find solutions for achieving the rights and ideals of Palestinians.
Al Ghurair hailed the Islamic Republic’s initiative in holding the conference as a remarkable step in backing the Palestinian cause.
