Hyderabad: Former MLA from Mahbubnagar Yennam Srinivas Reddy today reportedly resigned from the BJP. He submitted his resignation to State party chief G Kishen Reddy, it is learnt.
Talking to mediapersons later on Monday, Yennam said the BJP and Congress parties cannot become alternatives to the ruling TRS in the Telangana State. Sinivas Reddy, who was away from the BJP activities for some time past, has resigned from the primary membership of the party. He said his future plan of politics will be announced later.
Earlier, Yennam was with the TRS and joined the BJP later to become an MLA and unsuccessfully contested in the 2014 elections. He also criticized the ruling party saying there was no change in the 18-month-old TRS regime in the State. Taking a jibe at the ruling party, Srinivas Reddy alleged that corporate organizations were ruling the state. “We will form a political platform next year to take on the anti-people policies of the ruling party. The TRS government has belied the hopes of the people,” the former MLA charged. Stating that he has no plans to join any party, Yennam said their platform will fight for the cause of the poor in Telangana State. (NSS)
