Bhuj: A Pakistani national, who crossed over to the Indian side of the border in Kutch district of Gujarat, was detained by the Border Security Force (BSF) today.
The man appeared to be mentally retarded and could not speak, so the officials are yet to ascertain his identity, a BSF official said.
He was caught at Khavda, around 100 km from Bhuj.
“It appears the person is mentally retarded. He can’t talk speak we have not been able to find out his name and from where he has come. We will hand him over to the local police after initial investigation,” the officer said.
The man probably belonged to Diplo town in Pakistan’s Sindh province which is across the border from the spot where he was held, the officer added.
