Pakistani militants ruin schools, clinic

Islamabad, April 03: Unknown militants have destroyed two state-run schools and a health center in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal region, security officials say.

The officials told Media that gunmen blew up the schools and a Community Health Center in Shah Baig area of Mohmand Agency on Tuesday morning.

As a result of the blast, three buildings were completely destroyed. No loss of live or injury was reported in the incident.

The attacks came a day after the militants ruined another state-run high school in Kurram Agency.

The militants have destroyed over 80 schools in Mohmand Agency and hundreds more in other tribal areas since 2008.

Pro-Taliban militants have also banned female education in the northwestern Pakistani valley of Swat, depriving more than 40,000 girls of an education. The number of girls enrolled in schools in the region has dramatically dropped due to the ongoing violence in the Asian country.
