Pakistani forces kill 11 militants

Islamabad, October 11: Pakistani security forces have killed at least 11 pro-Taliban militants in Upper Dir town of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan.

The militants were killed after they attacked a check post of the security forces in Barawal tehsil of the Upper Dir on Tuesday, officials said.

Several militants were also injured during Tuesday’s assault.

However, none of Pakistan’s security forces were reported dead or injured in the incident.

The attack comes two days after at least 15 militants and a Pakistani soldier were killed when militants attacked a security forces check post on Sunday night.

Pakistan has already warned Afghanistan over the increasing number of cross-border raids by militants finding refuge in safe havens in the bordering areas in Afghanistan.
