Pakistani film, ‘ Zinda Bhaag’, the first Oscar entry for over 50 years from the country, has not got shortlisted for best foreign language Oscar, organizers have announced.
The movie was a comedy-thriller about three young men who try to escape the drudgery of their daily lives through unconventional means, Dawn reported.
Films that were left out also included Saudi Arabia’s ‘Wadjda’ by Haifaa al-Mansour, the movie was helmed by Saudi Arabia’s first female filmmaker and was filmed entirely in the Gulf state. It won best Arabic feature award at the Dubai Film Festival last year and picked up an award in Cannes in March. (ANI)
