New Delhi, January 11:Pakistan today summoned India’s Deputy High Commissioner in Islamabad G V Srinivas to the Foreign Office there and sought information on the progress in investigations in the Samjhauta blast case.
Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao, while confirming this, said the External Affairs Ministry was in touch with the Home Ministry on the issue and a response could be given after thorough investigations.
“Our acting Deputy High Commissioner G V Srinivas was summoned by Pakistan Foreign Office and they referred to media reports that have been surfacing about investigations in the Samjhauta Express train blast. That was basically what the meeting was about,” Ms Rao said.
The Foreign Secretary, however, declined to give any time frame for completion of the investigations saying it was an ongoing process.
