Pathankot (Punjab), April 19: Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing on the Indian posts in Bamial sector prompting the BSF to retaliate even as three rockets fell from across the border near the Simbal-Skole border post.
While intermittent firing from both sides lasted for an hour last night, no casualty was reported, BSF authorities said today.
The BSF held a flag march and lodged a protest against the firing at a meeting with Pakistan Rangers today saying that the border guards will not be lying low in case of such firings and there would be prompt retaliatory action.
Border Range IG Himmat Singh, who visted the area where the rockets had fallen from across the border, said a red alert had been sounded along the whole stretch.
