Islamabad: Pakistan and the US, during Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Washington, will discuss cooperation in defence field and the country would look forward to promote economic ties with the US.
The two sides will exchange views on a number of mutual issues, regional and global interests, Pakistan’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said.
There will be no compromise on national interests during talks with the US, Radio Pakistan reported on Saturday.
To a question the Advisor said the situation in Afghanistan will also be discussed.
He said Pakistan is willing to facilitate holding of second round of peace talks between Afghanistan government and Taliban if the government so desired.
