Karach: Pakistan Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has claimed the country does not require assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) anymore.
“Pakistan will soon stop looking towards IMF for assistance. The last session with IMF is underway right now. We will not go to IMF for assistance,” the Dawn quoted Dar as saying on Monday.
He added Pakistan will become the 18th biggest economic nation in the world by 2050.
IMF Deputy Managing Director Mitsuhiro Furusawa had earlier said that Pakistan’s economy was gradually gaining strength and its short-term vulnerabilities were also receding. (ANI)
