Pakistan lodges protest with India over ceasefire violations

Pakistan on Wednesday lodged protest with India through diplomatic channels over what it terms as ‘indiscriminate firing’ by the latter along the Line of Control (LoC) after the death of a civilian in the Rawlakot sector.

Islamabad lodged its protest through diplomatic channels after the death of a 70-year-old man in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) on October 28. The Pakistani government further accused India of continuing to violate the ceasefire agreement between the two nations along the LoC and the International Border in Kashmir.

Earlier this week, Pakistani troops resorted to heavy firing in the Balakot sector of Mendhar area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. The Indian troops guarding the border retaliated effectively.

Pakistan also targeted Indian Border out Posts (BoPs) along the international border at three places in the Kathua, Samba and Jammu districts. (ANI)
