Pakistan lacks will to punish Hafiz Saeed: Tharoor

New Delhi, November 28: India on Saturday reacted sharply to Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s claims that it had not provided enough evidence against Jamaat-ud-Dawah chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed.

Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor hit back at Pakistan, reportedly saying it doesn’t have the will to punish Mumbai terror attacks mastermind Hafiz Saeed.

Tharoor rejected Qureshi’s charge that New Delhi had failed to provide sufficient evidence against the JuD chief, saying proof against the 26/11 mastermind was available in Pakistan.

The MoS added that the Pakistani establishment’s actions don’t match its words.

Reacting to Qureshi’s remarks made to a TV channel that New Delhi was being myopic by linking peace talks to action against Hafiz Saeed, Tharoor said it was not possible to have peace talks with a gun pointed towards India.
