Karachi, March 11: After severe action on cricket players, Pakistan Hockey team tendered mass resignation following Hockey World Cup debacle.
It is noteworthy here that Pakistan hockey team have registered worst-ever performance with finishing last position in ongoing Federation of World Cup Hockey 2010 in New Delhi.
Pakistan Hockey Management and selection committee have been sacked, sources said.
Pakistan skipper Shahid Ali Khan said that he was embarrassed by the team’s performance. Pakistan today lost to Canada 3-2 in the last match. Pakistan finished 12th in the World Cup Hockey 2010. On the Other hand, Canada registered first win in the 12-nation tournament.
Pakistan, who won the World Cup in 1971, 1978, 1982 and 1994, had finished 11th in the 1986 edition in London. They were sixth in the last tournament in Germany in 2006.
