Pakistan bans Valentine’s day celebration in Islamabad

Being a Muslim country Pakistan obeys Islamic laws by not only banning Valentine’s day celebration but also banning every other activity related to it in its capital Islamabad.

Valentine’s has been criticized as an “insult” to Islam.

The decision to ban the celebrations was taken by interior minister Nisar Ali Khan.

The official said that formal notification will be soon issued by the Islamabad deputy commissioner.

In the past supporters of Jamaat-e-Islami have often disrupted the celebrations but fortunately it’s the first time that the state has intervened to ban the festivities.
