Pakistan army jet crashes in Punjab province, 2 pilots killed

A Pakistan military aircraft today crashed in the Punjab province while on a training flight, killing both the pilots on board.

The small two-seater Mushshak aircraft was on a routine training flight when it crashed due to a technical fault in Rahwali Cantt Gujranwala, a statement from the army said.

It said both the pilots aboard the plane died in the crash.

“An inquiry has been ordered into the incident,” the army said.

Mushshak aircraft is used by Pakistan to train pilots and it is also sold to several Middle Eastern countries.

Pakistan is hoping to sell some of the aircraft to Saudi Arabia.
