Karachi, Oct. 6 : All-rounder Shoaib Malik has been recalled to the Test fold after a gap of five years for the upcoming series against England.
The 33-year-old has been in superb form, scoring 500 runs, including a century and three fifties at an average of 100 in his 11 ODI appearances this year. In addition to this, Malik has claimed six wickets and is viewed as a handy bowler especially in the absence of Saeed Ajmal and Mohammad Hafeez.
Chief selector Haroon Rashid said that manager Intikhab Alam had made the recommendation to include Malik in the Test squad in consultation with head coach Waqar Younis considering his current batting form and the off-spin bowling option, the Dawn reported.
Pakistan will play the first Test of the three-match series on October 13 before playing four ODIs and three T20s against England in the United Arab Emirates. (ANI)
