Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India, Abdul Basit, on Monday ruled out New Delhi’s assertion that 1993 Mumbai blasts mastermind Dawood Ibrahim is in the safe haven of Islamabad.
“I can only say that he is not in Pakistan. What more I can say?” Basit told the media here.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh earlier today said India has credible information of the underworld don’s presence in Pakistan and would bring him back ‘no matter what’.
“Whether we have to pursue Pakistan or put pressure, we will not rest until we get Dawood Ibrahim back,” Singh said in the Lok Sabha.
He said that the government would leave no stone unturned to bring Dawood back to India.
” Dawood Ibrahim is wanted in serial bomb blast cases of 1993 in Mumbai and a Red Corner Notice is in existence against him,” said Singh.
“The United Nations Security Council has also issued a special notice No.U-65/4-2006 against him,” he added. (ANI)
