Pak national sentenced for infiltration

Allahabad, December 09: A Pakistani national was today sentenced to seven years rigorous imprisonment by a local court here for having infiltrated from across the Line of Control, with a couple of hand grenades in his possession, more than a decade ago.

The order was passed by Additional District Judge Farid-ul-Haq, who awarded the sentence to Asadullah Qadri and also slapped him with a fine of Rs 7,000.

Qadri, a resident of Muzaffarabad in Pakistan occupied Kashmir was arrested from Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir on March 15, 1996.

He was brought to the Naini Central Jail near here on February 17 this year following a Supreme Court order whereby the case had been transferred to the district court here.
