Pak National Assembly Speaker says no talk about PM’s replacement

Lahore [Pakistan]: Pakistan National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said that there has been no talk in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz ( PML-N) on an alternate Prime Minister in the wake of the Supreme Court hearing the Panama Papers leaks case.

“There has been no talk in the party on the alternate Prime Minister,” the Dawn quoted the Speaker as saying to a questioner.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Sadiq said that the Panama case was in the Supreme Court and they should avoid making speculations.

“There should not be more debate on the Panamaleaks as the matter is in the SC. We should respect the court decision,” the speaker said.

Responding to a question on references against the Prime Minister, Sadiq said, “The Speaker’s office is not an investigation forum.”

He stated that there was no justification of sit-in when the Supreme Court had taken up the Panama case.

“They (PTI leaders) should respect court’s decision and refrain from influencing the court,” Sadiq said. (ANI)
