Islamabad, May 10 (ANI): Pakistan”s Attorney General Irfan Qadir has said that any legal proceedings against former president Pervez Musharraf would have serious political repercussions and ramifications. Qadir stated before a three-member bench at the Supreme Court that the interim government did not have the mandate to be involved in this “controversy” and it did not want its neutrality to be affected, reports the Daily Times. The AGP contended that no constitutional provision or statutes has empowered the apex court to determine whether anyone has subverted, abrogated or held the constitution in abeyance or to register high treason case, but that right has been given to the elected representatives of the people. He advised the court to not get involved in the “controversy” otherwise it would be seen as partial and be ridiculed. (ANI)
