Eunuchs in Pakistan have obtained nomination papers to take part in the upcoming general elections.
Under the slogan ‘don’t try the tested ones shake hands with eunuchs’, Bindya Rana, the provincial president of one of their organizations ‘Jayya’ is planning to contest polls from PS-115 Sindh while Mazhar Anjum alias Anju is aiming for PS-130.
According to the News, talking to media persons, a group of eunuchs said members of their community will get into the electoral arena from across Pakistan.
They claimed that if they gained power, they would turnaround the prevailing circumstances within six months.
They further said that they have been in contact with other political parties for seat adjustments.
They added that alliance will be made only with a party whose manifesto covers protection of eunuchs’ rights.
With the hope of bringing about a ‘change’, the eunuchs will file their nominations for two Sindh Assembly seats on Friday, the report added. (ANI)
