Washington, July 30: Richard Holbrooke, US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, today said that Pakistan did mentioned India’s involvement in trouble-hit Balochistan but gave no credible evidence in this regard.
Holbrooke said that Pakistan leadership raised the issue during his last week’s visit to the country.
“I would be misleading, if I said Balochistan issue didn’t come up,” Holbrooke told newsmen.
When asked if Pakistan has provided any credible evidence of India’s involvement, the US envoy replied in negative. “The narrow answer to your question is no,” he said.
Reacting on Kashmir issue, Holbrooke said that he is not the authorised person to discuss it. “Kashmir is outside my ability to discuss.”
However, Holbrooke said that US and India have same opinion on the issue of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The US envoy said that India was the first country in the world he was ever aware of. He further said that he has a very special feeling for it. “As per as any rift is being concerned, it is better to ask the Indians, I didn’t see any rift,” he said
