Pak court rules U.S. drone strikes ‘illegal, violate country’s sovereignty’

Calling drone strikes by the CIA illegal and a threat to national integrity and sovereignty, the Peshawar High Court has ordered the government to compensate the victims of these strikes.

According to a report in The Dawn, drone strikes have been carried out in the Pakistan territory as a measure to evict terrorists. Due to these attacks many innocent civilians also fall prey to the violence.

Chief Justice Dost Mohammad equated these strikes to war crimes violating human rights according to the United Nations’ Charter. He ordered the government to implement strict measures in order to end the strikes, the report said. (ANI)
