The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the counter-terrorism department (CTD) in Peshawar, Pakistan, was gunned down by assailants in the city’s Gulbahar area on
Wednesday morning.
According to the Dawn, Bahadur Khan was on his way to drop his daughter to school near Anam Sanam Chowk in Peshawar’s Gulbahar area when gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire at him, said Peshawar SSP (Operations) Mian Saeed.
According to police sources, the DSP had been receiving threats from unknown militants. They added that the DSP’s daughter was unhurt in the attack.
The assailants escaped from the scene immediately after the shooting.
A number of militant-related attacks have taken place in Peshawar in recent times, with both civilians and policemen being targets. (ANI)
