Pak Army chief says state of preparedness required to face multidimensional security threats

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Shariff has reportedly said that a high state of preparedness is required at all times to tackle multidimensional security threats that the nation faces.

According to the Dawn, General Sharif was visiting the Sonmiani Ranges and witnessed air defence firing exercises, an ISPR spokesman said in a statement issued from military headquarters in Rawalpindi.

The air defence firing exercise reportedly used a complete range of air defence weapons including guns and surface-to-air missiles.

Appreciating the professionalism of participating units, the Army chief said that highest standard of training and professionalism must remain the hallmark to accomplish the mission.

Meanwhile, Gen Sharif’s visit follows an important meeting of the army’s top brass earlier this week which reviewed internal and external threats to Pakistan’s national security, the report added. (ANI)
