Pak, Afghanistan set up hotline between military commandos

Karachi: Pakistan and Afghanistan have set up a hotline between their respective military commanders to improve relations between the two neighbours.

According to The Express Tribune, the decision to set up a hotline between the directors general military operations (DGMOs) of the two countries was taken during Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif’s visit to Kabul on Sunday.

Chief military spokesperson of Pakistan, Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa, said that first contact between the DGMOs was made through the hotline.

He said that both DGMOs discussed military to military issues, modalities, dates of meetings between corps commanders of two sides and measures to enhance coordination along the border. (ANI)
