Hyderabad, May 04: Minutes after news channels telecast footage of the attack on Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen MLA, Akbaruddin Owaisi, a mob tried to attack the function hall and hotel of Mohammed Bin Omer Yafai alias Mohammed Pahelwan, at Chandrayanagutta on Tuesday night.
The attackers, who came in some vehicles, started pelting stones on the function hall and hotel. Some of them tried to rush towards the buildings. Supporters of the Pahelwan too retaliated, escalating tension in the area.
The police, who had stepped up security in the area soon after TV channels began telecasting footage of the attack, rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Another group tried to attack the house of Ibrahim Yafai, who was killed in the shoot-out when the gunman of MIM MLA, Ahmed Bin Balala, returned fire.
