‘Padmavati’ Row: Dead body hung from fort in Rajasthan

Jaipur: The nationwide outrage against the release of controversial film ‘Padmavati’ has now turned ugly with the protestors hanging a dead body of the wall from the Nahargarh Fort in Jaipur, Rajasthan today.

The threats and warnings against the film release forced the movie makers to extend the release in India but it was cleared uncut by the British censors yesterday.

A death note has also been found which was written on a rock alongside the body, which read: “We don’t behead, but hang”.

Since the movie release was announced, massive nationwide protests, death threats against the movie actors have been noted in the past few days.

The Rajasthan Police is now probing the murder case of the dead body hung from the fort.

Moviemaker Bhansali in an appeal has clarified that no romantic dream sequence between the Queen Padmavati and Allahuddin Khilji is shown in the film but the threats still continue.

Meanwhile, many Historians are divided on whether Padmini actually existed as her only reference is found in the 16th-century epic poem “Padmavat”.
