New Delhi: Despite permission to release Sanjay Leela Bansali’s controversial film, Padmaavat, massive protests are witnessed against it across the country. The film starred by Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor will be released today, however, the protest has been intensified. Due unrelenting demand to ban Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, the director was forced to change its name from Padmavati to Padmaavat.
But the protest didn’t stop especially by Rajput Samaj. Founder of Karni Sena, Lokendra Singh Kalvi said he will not let the film release. He alleged that it is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s conspiracy. Rani Padmavati is my mother I will render an apology to her, he said.
The protestors in the national capital have jammed Pataudi road in Gurugram. They torched the buses and pelted stones in protest. Section 144 has been imposed in Gurugram till Sunday to maintain law and order. The protestors also jammed Delhi-Jaipur highway in Vaishali Nagar. Protestors also took to streets in Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Ujjain and other cities. Mumbai police are also on alert and security has been beefed up to prevent any untoward incident.
Police have also arrested leaders of Karni Sena. 50 people have been arrested in Mumbai while 44 have been arrested in Ahmedabad.
