Excise Minster T Padma Rao Goud called on Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhaker Prabhu on Monday and submitted a Memorandum on various issues pertaining to twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Padma Rao requested the Union Minister to take immediate steps for starting MMTS Phase II works with connectivity to various suburbs like Bolarum, Bhongir, Shamshabad Airport etc., He also demanded electrification of Secunderabad-Bolarum-Medchal Line. He urged the Union Minister to take immediate steps to develop Secunderabad, Kachiguda and Nampally Railway Stations as World Class Stations. He said new terminals should be started at Moulali, Lingampally, Malkagiri and other places.
Padma Rao also requested the Centre to introduce new trains to Ajmir, Shirdi and Tiruvananthapuram. He also said that the RUBs at Bhoiguda, James Street, Bible House, Minister Road and Lalaguda (Konda Reddy Nager) should be expanded and ROB/RUBs should be constructed at Gautamnager, Safilguda, Vajpayeenager, Lingampally etc.,
In his memoramdum, Padma Rao demanded renovation of Railway Quarters which are in dilapidated condition at Chilkalguda, North Lalaguda, South Lalaguda, Vijayapuri, Sitaphalmandi, Hamalibashi and Bhoiguda; Immediate starting of Medical College, Nursing College and Hockey Academy (which were already sanctioned by Railways); Developing Sitaphalmandi Station into a major terminal; Construction of RUBs at Manikeshwari Nagar and Sitaphalmandi for the benefit of local residents and Widening of Chintabavi Bridge, Lalaguda Bridge, Kondareddy Nagar Bridge etc.
The Excise minister requested Suresh Prabhu to start the RUB works at Tukaramgate for which sanction was already accorded by the Railway Ministry. He sought allotment of Railway Land for approach roads like Satyanager (Lalapet) and immediate completion of works and opening widened portion of Railnilayam and Alugaddabavi.
The Union Minister has positively responded to the request of Padma Rao Goud and issued directions to General Manager and other authorities of South Central Railway for immediate necessary action. (INN)
