A.P. and Telangana make lofty claims of development of Urdu: Sudhir Commission’s report set aside

Hyderabad: Whenever there is an issue of development of Urdu language, Telangana leaders make an attempt to save their skin by blaming the injustice meted out by Andhra rulers but the fact is even after three years, Govt. of Telangana did not include Khammam district for using Urdu as second language. On the floor of the Assembly and outside, CM and other Ministers made lofty claims by promoting Urdu. TRS Govt. which claims to be the legitimate heir of Urdu language, did not take even a single action which could prove its promotion. In the integrated A.P., out of 10 districts, in 9 districts, Urdu was declared as second official language but Khammam was not included in this list. Now that the number of districts has gone up from 10 to 31, Govt. has to make an enactment for using Urdu as second official language in all the 31 districts. Urdu lovers expect that Govt. would take a decision in the winter session of the Assembly in this regard.
