World number one Serena Williams had reportedly faced an awkward moment with an Australian interviewer who asked what she got her sister Venus for Christmas, not knowing that the Venus sisters are Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Australian TV interviewer and former tennis player Renae Stubbs was left shamefaced after she asked Serena as to what the American ace got her sister Venus for Christmas, in an on-court interview.
According to Sport24, Serena replied that they do not celebrate Christmas, although she added that both of them ‘hung out’ together and had a ‘great time’.
Serena has now reportedly won more matches at the Australian Open than any other woman player, notching her 24th consecutive win on the tour and improving her career record to 61-8, following her third round win over Daniela Hantuchova. (ANI)
