Oxygen tank blast kills worker in Iran

Tehran, October 19: An explosion of an oxygen tank in a building under construction near Iran’s Oil ministry has killed one person and injured 17 others.

An oxygen welding cylinder exploded in an unfinished building due to construction workers’ negligence Sunday night.

The blast took place in the center of the Iranian capital Tehran near the country’s oil ministry killing one and injuring 17, mostly Afghan emigrants.

Firefighters and rescuers arrived at the scene of the accident and sent workers to the nearest hospital. An Iranian worker died following serious injuries.

Officials announced no buildings or people other than the building under construction and workers inside were damaged or harmed during the fatal accident.
