The Clarendon Fund offers over 100 full scholarships every year to academically excellent graduate students at the University of Oxford, regardless of nationality. The Clarendon Scholarships cover full fees as well as provide a generous grant for living expenses – funded with the help of Oxford University Press, Oxford’s colleges and other external partners. Some 60 Indian postgraduates have been awarded scholarships through the Clarendon fund since it started in 2001.
Rhodes Scholarships

Rhodes Scholarships are available to outstanding young women and men who show strong potential to be public-spirited leaders for the world’s future. The first Rhodes Scholar from India came to Oxford in 1947 and there have been a total of 186 Indian Rhodes Scholars since.

Felix Scholarships are specifically for Indian postgraduate students and have been supporting scholars at Oxford since 1991. Over the past four years alone, approximately 30 Indian postgraduate students have received funding for full fees and living costs through the Felix Scholarships.

Chevening Scholarships

Chevening Scholarships are for talented people who have been identified as potential future leaders across a wide range of fields including politics, business, the media, civil society, religion and academia. Most scholars undertake a one year master’s degree. Funding for the Chevening Scholarships is shared between the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the University of Oxford.
Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) Scholarship

These scholarships have been established by the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies to allow graduates to pursue study of benefit to the Muslim world.
Hilla Ginwala Scholarships

The Hilla Ginwalla Scholarships were set up in memory of Mrs Hilla Ginwalla by her husband, Mr Peston Padamji Ginwala, a noted Indian barrister and Oxford graduate. The scholarship is offered in conjunction with the Clarendon Fund.
SKP (Pathak) Scholarships

Following a generous gift made by Mr Krishna Pathak (a Friend of the College), Exeter College is offering the SKP Scholarship (linked to a Clarendon Award) for an Indian postgraduate student resident in India or Dubai who wishes to undertake a postgraduate degree at Exeter College, University of Oxford.
Generations for Peace

The Generations for Peace scholarship is awarded to support a postgraduate student commencing a new Doctoral course, although in exceptional cases Master’s-level applicants may also be considered. Applicants to the scholarship must demonstrate an intention to conduct research into sport for peace and development. The programme of study could be based in the Medical Sciences, Social Sciences or Humanities Divisions.
James Buckee Scholarship

The Buckee Scholarship is a full scholarship for degrees in Physics, created in 2010 by Dr James Buckee. Past Buckee scholars are working on Doctorates in Quantum Field Physics and Atomic and Laser Physics.

Funding for one three-year postgraduate studentship has been donated by Birla International Limited, Douglas, Isle of Man (part of the Birla Group of Industries, India). The Birlas are a long-established and prominent family based in Kolkata, and one of the foremost business houses in India. They are renowned for their philanthropic endeavours, particularly in the field of education, and they have founded numerous schools and colleges.

The Department of International Development offers a number of full scholarships covering University and College fees, plus an amount towards maintenance, known as the ‘Queen Elizabeth House Scholarships’, which are available to students on any of the department’s courses.
