Owaisi has dual policy on terrorism, says Tel BJP chief

Hyderabad: Hitting out at AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, Telangana BJP president K Laxman today alleged the Hyderabad MP has adopted a dual policy on terrorism.

“Asaduddin Owaisi needs to clarify his stance on terrorism. Because what he speaks is contradictory. He portrays the Task Force office (in Hyderabad) attack in one way and the court decision (granting of bail to Lt. Col Shrikant Prasad Purohit by the Supreme Court) in the Malegaon blasts in another way. It reflects his dual policy,” Laxman told reporters here.

Owaisi’s comments on the Task Force office attack issue are “irresponsible”, he alleged.

A local court on August 10 acquitted 10 persons for want of evidence in the case of a bomb blast at the Hyderabad Police Task Force office in the city in 2005, in which a home guard was killed.

Reacting to the judgement, Owaisi had questioned whether the investigating officers will be made accountable.

“In the 2005 Hyderabad task (force) office bomb blast (case), the police couldn’t prove conspiracy, but the accused lost 10 years of their lives languishing in jails,” Owaisi had said.

He yesterday alleged that there is a “pattern” in some of the alleged terror cases being “dropped” since the NDA government came to power in 2014.

Laxman also hailed the Supreme Court verdict on triple talaq issue.
