Implementation of Overseas Scholarship for Minority Students has been delayed. After scrutinising the received applications for the second time and reviewing the fulfillment of conditions, high power committee of the government has rejected 86 out of 280 applications. Thus implementation of Overseas Scholarship has become controversial for Minority Welfare Department.
Students who submitted applications face disappointment after receiving the information that some applications are rejected. According to reliable sources the high power committee rechecked the applications on the basis of the condition issued by the government. In the first phase the committee had finalised the list of 280 applications for overseas scholarship. It had prepared the list of 280 selected candidates however the list was not uploaded on the website. Later scruitinising the applications for the second time the committee rejected 86 applications for non-fulfilment of conditions.
It must be noted that earlier government had given exemption for GRE or GMAT later it was made compulsory, thinking it to be against the policy of government.
