Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana issued GO. Ms. 24 on 19th May 2015 to provide financial assistance to 500 students belonging to Minorities for pursuing education abroad. Under this scheme, a condition was laid that the applicants should have passed GRE/GMAT/ IELTS/TOEFL. The parents of the applicants told that passing GMAT or GRE is not essential for the students belonging to science groups. This condition is applicable for the candidates seeking admissions in Engineering Courses abroad. It is enough for science graduate if they pass IELTS or TOEFL. In such a situation, it is not appropriate to impose a condition of passing GRE or GMAT for science graduates. They opined that in British, American and Australian Universities it is enough if a candidate gets through IELTS.
The Dept. of Minorities Welfare is imposing the condition of passing GRE or GMAT for all the applicants which is causing disappointment for many students. The parents requested that if amendment is made in GO 24, many students will be able to benefit from this scheme.
