Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today took a decision to encourage students of Minorities community to pursue higher education abroad. Towards this end, the State Government allocated Rs 25 crore for the implementation of “Overseas Scholarship Scheme” designed for the purpose. Currently, a similar scheme is being implemented for Dalits in Telangana State.
Keeping poor financial position of the minorities in view, the Chief Minister has taken the key decision to encourage them to pursue higher education abroad. The scheme will provide monetary assistance to the merit and efficient students to pursue their higher education. KCR asked the officials to encourage the students of SC, ST, Minorities and BC similarly, according to a CMO release here. (NSS)
