Hyderabad: Heavy inflows into the Tolichowki’s Shah Hatim Talab due to the continuous rains may cause overflowing into the already flood-hit colonies abutting it. This also includes Nadeem Colony, where the flood-water is still chest-high.
Encroachments into the Talab’s full-tank level (FTL) coupled with the official inaction has led to the growing number of houses and spread in the colonies’ area. Even in the notified lakes, the authorities have reduced the FTL limits to suit the fancies of a few influential encroachers, and condoned illegal constructions inside the limits.
