Two teenaged boys allegedly looted Rs 8.1 lakh cash from State Bank of India’s Alot branch near here today when the cashier left the counter unlocked for answering nature’s call, police said today.
The incident took place this afternoon when cashier Amit Dangi left the counter and the accused entered the branch and took away bundles of currency notes, Ratlam SP, Dr Raman Singh Sikarwar told reporters.
At the time of the incident the bank guard was busy guarding the ATM where the bank staff was filling up the chest
of the machine.
On the basis of the CCTV footage it was found out that two boys have taken away cash from the bank, he said adding
efforts were on to identify them, police said.
Police also suspect the involvement of cashier in the theft as he left the counter unlocked.
