The Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) – 2012 was successfully held across the State on Saturday.
According to Eamcet Convenor Prof N V Ramana Rao, about 98 percent of students attended the examination for engineering stream in the morning session, registering a highest percentage compared to previous years. He said that five students were arrested at an examination centre in Kurnool district for impersonation. In another incident in Kadapa, a case was registered against a student for entering the examination hall with a cell phone.
Over 94 per cent applicants appeared for the medicine and agriculture streams. However, 20 members who came late to the examination centre were not allowed to write the exam. No cases of malpractices were reported for both the streams.
Prof Ramana Rao said that the key for EAMCET would be released at 4 pm on Sunday and the final key for EAMCET would be released on May 24 after taking into consideration the objections on key from the candidates. He said that ranks and marks in EAMCET would be announced as per the directions of the State Government. He said that marks and ranks of EAMCET would be announced on June 1 after giving due weightage to intermediate marks. (INN)
