Over 88 per cent students pass SCC exams

As many as 88.62 per cent students have passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations whose results were declared here on Thursday.

Releasing the results at the State Secretary, Advisor to Governor Salahuddin Ahmed informed that of 10,61,703 candidates who appeared for the exam, as many as 940,924 or 88.92 per cent have passed the exams. While 478,955 or 87.96 per cent boys passed the exam, a total of 461,969 girls or 89.33 per cent of those appeared cleared it. There has been an increase of 0.54 per cent in the pass percentage compared to last year.

A total of 12,15,391 students including 153,688 private candidates had appeared for the exams held in March. The pass percentage of private candidates this year is 45.57 whereas it was 45.50 last year.

This year 5,784 schools secured 100 per cent results while the figure was 4,326 in 2013 and 3,588 in 2012. They include 326 Government, 1613 Zilla Parishad, 11 Municipal, 183 APREIS, 59 APSWREIS, 43 APTWREIS, 3462 private and 87 Aided schools. Compared to last two years, the pass percentage has improved in all the categories. However, as compared to just 11 schools last year, this year as many as 77 schools secured zero per cent passes. They include 55 Private, 14 Government and eight Aided schools.

With 96.26 per cent, East Godavari is on the top with highest percentage of passes in the State and Adilabad district secured lowest percentage of 58.31 per cent. Among communities, OCs had the highest pass percentage of 90.71 followed by BCs – 89.44%, STs – 85.46% and SCs – 84.66%.

Salahuddin Ahmed informed that the supplementary examinations will be held from June 16 to 28th from 9.30 AM to 12 Noon. The last date of remittance of examination fee by the candidates to the Heads of Schools concerned is May 30th. Similarly, the last date of payment of exam fee by by the Heads of Schools in the Sub Treasuries/SBH/SBI is June 2.

The subject wise performance statements (Grade sheets) will be given to all the candidates within 10 days to facilitate admission into first year intermediate without any difficulty. SSC certificates will be supplied to all the passed candidates subsequently. The extraction of failed candidates of March 2014 will be dispatched to the concerned schools by May 25.

The Governor’s Advisor said that the results of a few candidates have been withheld for want of certain information from the school/camp/Center. These cases will be finalised and released shortly, he said. The candidates who desire to get their marks recounted should remit Rs 500 per subject within 12 days from the date of publication of results. This year too, the system of re-verification of Answer Books in all subjects has been decentralised.
