About 77.56 per cent students have passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations of Telangana State whose results were declared here on Sunday.
Releasing the results at the State Secretariat here, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari informed that a total of 559,223 candidates, including 513,473 regular and 45,750 had appeared for the exams held from 11th to 25th April across Telangana State. Of them, 77.56% regular and 54.13% private candidates have passed the exams. Girls have outperformed boys by securing a pass percentage of 79.04% as against boy’s percentage of 76.11%. They maintained dominance among private candidates and secured 60.32 pass percentage compared to boys’ percentage of 51.17%.
Of 10,982 schools in the State, this year 1491 schools secured 100% of passes. They include 944 private, 385 Zilla Parishad and 99 Government schools. A total of 28 schools secured ‘zero’ percentage passes which include 12 private, 9 government, 5 Zilla Parishad and two Aided schools.
Of 513,473 regular candidates, 1387 students obtained 10 GPA.
Warangal district was on top with highest pass percentage of 91.6% in the State and Adilabad district secured lowest percentage of 54.9%. The TSREI Society secured highest percentage of passes of 92.99%. While Government Schools secured lowest percentage of 63.39%, the Zilla Parishad, Municipal, TWREIS and Aided High Schools secured less pass percentage than State average.
The average pass percentage for English medium candidates was 49.93%, followed by Telugu Medium candidates with 47.61% and Urdu medium with 2.28%.
The Deputy CM informed that the Supplementary Examinations are scheduled from 18th June to 2nd July from 9.30 am to 12.15 noon. The last date for remittance of examination fee by the candidates is May 30. (INN)
