Over 6,000 engineering seats vacant after second phase

Hyderabad, September 30: More than 6,000 seats are still vacant in engineering after the second phase of allotment done on Tuesday.

Allotment list is placed on the website – ‘http://apeamcet.nic.in’.

Officials said 9,017 seats remained vacant after the second phase of counselling of which 6,357 are in the engineering stream and 2,660 in the pharmacy stream.

After the first phase of allotment, 1,24,331 candidates reported to the colleges while 14,340 candidates preferred not to report.

The unreported cases were treated as vacant seats and added to the already existing 7,484 vacancies in the first phase and 5,969 additional seats in new colleges.

A statement from the Convenor, EAMCET-2009 admissions, said that 1,43,107 seats were filled during the first and second phases of which 1,40,268 are from engineering stream and 2,705 from B.Pharmacy stream.

Candidates now have to log onto the website, enter their hall ticket number, registration number, date of birth and password for downloading the allotment letter as well as the fee challan.

After paying the fee at any branch of Indian Bank or Andhra Bank in the State, candidates have to report to the respective colleges before October 5.

Candidates who secured admission, but are not interested in taking up the course can take back their original certificates from the concerned helpline centre by October 5.

No cancellation fee will be charged from any candidate.
